Counting with Beads.

Today we were practising our counting and got to make colourful bead necklaces.

We know to only count each bead once and that counting the beads tells us how many we have.

Peyton is pointing at each bead as she counts them.

Ema and Kyra-Lee are concentrating hard
on lacing their beads.  They were making necklaces and making their fingers and hands strong at the same time.

Mckayla had heaps of fun making this colourful necklace.  She chose round and square beads.

Samoan language week - Fun at School.

The Samoan culture is very important to Blessing and Teveli's aiga.
We have been celebrating Samoan language week with them.

Today we made Siapo patterns with coloured paper.
We used different colours and different patterns when we cut the paper.
Each of our pieces is different - but together they make an amazing picture.

We are all different but together we make an amazing class!

My space - My Place - Back to school for Level 2.

Room 13 looks different from how it did last term.

We are learning and playing in our own spaces.
We all have our own safe place in the classroom this will keep us healthy.

Blessing is ready for learning at his desk space.
Blessing likes to colour in and he can cut and glue to make awesome pictures.

Semisi is enjoying a healthy lunch at his desk.

Jay is playing with lego
which he keeps in a special box at his desk.
He is making a garage for his truck.

Kyra-Lee has a lego
window in her toy box
and she used it to make a shop.
Awesome job! She is having fun at school.

Bubbles, bubbles everywhere. -Fun at School

This week at school we have been learning about the importance of washing our hands and making lots of soapy bubbles.

We have blown hundreds of bubbles.

We blew bubbles with bubble wands.

Ezekiel said "My bubble has gone all the way up to the moon!"

We made foam snake bubbles by blowing bubbles through fabric.  We had heaps of fun.

Ema made a bubble snake that was as long as her arm!

Welcome back to Room 13.

It was a very happy day in Room 13 today as we were able to come back to school.

We talked about our home bubbles, and drew pictures of all the special whanau who were in our bubbles with us.

We blew bubbles outside, we watched them float up high, and we saw how they popped when they touched each other.
Now we are in our own bubbles at school.

We have to protect our bubbles by not getting too close to each other, so we are spaced out on our desks and we have special lines to line up on.  We have to make sure we don't touch anyone else's bubble.

Farewell Green bubble

Today was the last day of Bubble school. Although we are happy to know that our friends are coming back to learn with us next week, we are sad to say goodbye to each other.

We have been able to do lots of great things at bubble school which we can't do at during normal school, like riding bikes and scooters ALL over the playground.

Here is a movie of our favourite things about Green Bubble.

Term 2: Our Living Earth - Volcanos

This Term we will be studying Our Living Earth.

The Earth has changed alot over the millions of years since it first formed.
Our home Tamaki-Makaurau has many maunga in it.  Some of these are sleeping volcanos.

Today in the Green bubble we painted volcanos erupting at night.  We used brushes, cotton-wool, and sticks to make the different paint effects.

Team 1 teachers have lots of questions about volcanos.
As you can see from this film we have alot to learn - it will be fun learning together.

Highlights from the Green Bubble

This week was a busy one in the Green Bubble!

As well as attending our class hangouts and working on all the tasks set by our classroom teachers we managed to have alot of fun together.

We challenged the other bubbles at school to a dance challenge!

We are going to be very fit by the time everyone else comes back to school!
Every afternoon we have bubble-sise (exercises) in the hall with Ms Va'afusuaga.

We also have our own bike and scooter to use everyday!  It is lots of fun to ride all around the school on them.

We made bath bombs on Friday to give to "The women who look after us".

Hello from my bubble.

Kia ora everyone,

I hope that you have all had a great week.
I have been in a bubble at school this week and have been working with some of the Pt England kids who needed to come back to school.

Today we made some hats to celebrate Ms Adinas
           from Rm 20's birthday.
It is very quiet at school because most of the kids are still learning at             home like all of Room 13.
Hopefully we will all be back together soon.
