Happy Holidays from Room 13

What an exciting day the last day of school was.

Today we had TWO assemblies.

We made happy holiday cards for our family and filled them with heaps of our learning from the term.  We also chose some learning to take home for the holidays.

And it was Ruth's birthday.  Her Mum brought in cake for us all to share!  It was so delicious!!!

Thank you Ruth.!!

Ipad learning

Today we practised using our ipads to join a google meet and how to access all the cool learning on our home learning site.

Everyone enjoyed choosing their own games to play.  Some people played lots of different games, and some people played one game for the whole time.

Rawiri kept going with one maths game and he got 74 questions right!! Wow Rawiri you are growing your maths brain!  Ka Pai te Mahi!!!

Thank you Duffy!

We love books in Room 13.

We received our Duffy books today and we were so excited.  Everybody got two books to take home and to cherish!  We loved looking through our books together.

We Love you Duffy!

Waka Huia - Cherish our treasures

Today we learnt about Waka Huia and how they were made to keep special taonga safe. Things like huia feathers, tiki and other precious items were kept in them.

We made our own - we coloured the inside with colours and pictures of things we love.  Then we used sponge shapes to make patterns.  Larnorah used the koru shape.

We were so proud of what we had made.   Nathanael said "I am going to keep my car in it"

Koha from Marion Bruce House

Today Team 1 were very happy to welcome some wonderful manuhiri to our classroom and assembly.

We had visitors from Marion Bruce House at King's College, and one of them was Mrs Shirley's daughter Louise.  They had a bake sale at their school and raised money to buy some cool sporting equipment for Team 1.  We were so happy - it felt like Christmas.

We felt so lucky and grateful for these amazing gifts which are taonga we will cherish!

Nga mihi Marion Bruce house  - Thank you so much.
