Anzac Day 2020

As a country we celebrated Anzac day in very different ways this year.  At Pt England school we have shown the Anzac spirit by thinking about others.  This was the theme of Fridays live streamed assembly.

Ashleigh was inspired to remember our Anzac's with some great writing and she also decorating the footpath.
Awesome work.

What did you do to remember our Anzac Tupuna?

Learning at home packs arriving.

All learners in New Zealand are receiving packs with lots of paper, pencils and books to help us with our learning until we can go back to school again.

Making art at home

Ka pai te mahi Marriane,

On friday our at home learning focused on using art to make connections with our changing world.
You may have lots of beautiful autumn leaves on the trees around your house.

Marriane sent me these great pictures of the beautiful autumn tree she created at home.

I love that she used her imagination and came up with some really interesting things to make her art.
She really showed how creative she can be.
Well done.  You should be very proud of your work.

Finding the missing number!

Well done to Ashleigh for finding the missing number!.
On wednesday we were doing some counting and I lost a number from my 100 board.
I asked the class which number I had to look for...
Ashleigh sent me this video!

Ashleigh has been cooking.

It was great to get this photo from Ashleigh who wrote a story about helping her brother in the kitchen.

She made sushi and scones - Yummy.
Great writing Ashleigh.  I love your very colourful picture too.

Then Ashleigh worked on her learning pack.

She practiced the letter S.
S is for sushi and scones.
Awesome job.

Fun in the garden.

We have been making the most of the sunshine and warm days.  Our learning was taken outside and into our gardens.

Ashleigh was inspired by our Home learning site to go on a Mini-beast Safari.
She found a spider and then wrote a great story about it.

Thanks so much to Ashleighs family for sharing her amazing learning.

Pt England Assembly

Kia ora e te whanau,

Friday is assembly day at Pt England and we are continuing to celebrate our school and our community with online assemblies.

Today Mr Burt shared a new Korero for the coming week... "Smart Footprints".
He asked us all to think about what we do when we are online and continue to be nice and kind to each other online just as we are in everyday life.

The teachers and staff made shout outs to learners, parents and people in our community who are helping each other during the lock down.
Ka pai mahi!.

You can check it our on our website and don't forget to watch live next week.
Have a great weekend everyone and keep sending me your photos.
Ka Kite
