Checking out the Pukeko.

Today we sent a blog comment to our buddy class in the South Island.  We talked about where their school was and how it is close to where Mrs Shirley grew up.

We found out our buddy class is called Pukeko classroom.  We have lots of Pukeko at our school.
They play on our field and Mrs Flavelle in our office feeds them bread.

We went out to say hi to our Pukeko.

Learning through play

In room 13 we have a play space which we can use when we have finished our learning.

We have had so much fun constructing, role playing and using our imaginations.

McKayla loves the dolls house                                                      Ema and Jay working together in the
                                                                                                       sandpit.

Koru art

Today we made Koru to represent our special place.

The Koru is a symbol of new life and hope for the future.
We used the colours of red, black and white to represent the land, the sky and light.
Our koru come out of our maunga and awa.

We are very proud of our work.
