Kiwisport - Our last Taekwondo lesson

Today we sadly had our last Taekwondo lesson for the term.

We have had a lot of fun learning from Coach Brendon.

Today we learnt how to break some boards with our feet. We had to raise our knee up really high. It was a bit scary at first but then we all had a go and it was awesome.

Kapa Haka performance at assembly

Today our senior Kapa Haka group gave a performance at school assembly.

They were really amazing and we loved watching them.  When they had finished we all cheered. They made us really proud.

We wrote stories about what we had seen.

This is McKayla's story.

"I like Kapa Haka because they dance on the stage".

Wacky Wheels - Manaiakalani Film Festival 2020

Today we got to share our Team 1 movie with Pt England school and lots of other schools as well.

We went on the bus to Sylvia Park.  We were so proud to see ourselves on the big screen.

Watch it here and leave us a comment.

Listening to stories in our home languages.

We have been reading and listening to some very special books in our classroom over the last few weeks.

These books have two languages in them.  Mrs Shirley reads to us in English and then we listen to the languages we hear at home and with our fanau.

Blessing liked listening to the stories in Samoan.  His Mum read the story The Race to him too.

Marriane told the class about the doughnuts her Nany makes - just like the ones in the story - No Ducks.

Our Garden is growing

We have been looking after our garden.  We water it and make sure no weeds are growing.

We have lots of pretty flowers now and our strawberries are growing and some are even ready to eat.

"They are yummy!" said McKayla.
